Game of Thrones MAESTER's CHAIN Shot 1

History and Lore Maester's Chain

The floor and the ceiling were drawn with detail to kind of frame this 18 second opening shot.  It was interesting how the shot actually started in the ceiling arches and the camera came down through them creating depth and 3D image. 

This is the script for this shot that was given;

"You can hear a maester coming long before you see him, thanks to the jangling chains he’s forced to wear around his neck. It’s meant to remind him of his servitude – like the collar of a dog. He can’t remove it even to sleep."

I was then asked to draw a Maester with his chains walking down a long, noble hall.  And, here you have the final result used this shot.
